2016 Greenwich Concours Recap

Last weekend was a new event for us, with duPont Registry being a major sponsor of the 2016 Greenwich Concours. After a cannonball run up Interstate 95, we arrived Thursday evening to find the narrow streets choked with auto transporters. If you haven’t experienced the coastline of Connecticut, Greenwich is an enclave of tranquility less than an hour from Manhattan.

The main waterfront attraction is the historic Delamar Hotel. With several hundred feet of deep water dock space, we invited a few clients from our boat magazine to add to the festivities. Due to the limited space of the park, the show is divided with American cars on Saturday and Europeans on Sunday. To provide a smooth transition between them, our duPont REGISTRY Live event was the highlight of the weekend. With help from the volunteers of AmeriCares, attendees were treated to beautiful cars and boats along with amazing food.

If you plan on visiting, take the road less traveled. The twisty back roads offer great elevation changes and the occasional view of the parking lot that is I-95. A big thank you to AmeriCares and to the staff of the Delamar Hotel for allowing us to be a part of the action. We’re heading back to Connecticut in 3 weeks for Barrett-Jackson’s inaugural auction at the Mohegan Sun Casino, so stay tuned for a preview.
