Convertible and hardtop were two inextricably separate options when it came to the family vehicle in the 1950’s– that is, until Ford decided to mold the two together and create the iconic Skyliner. The Skyliner is considered a major advancement in the world of automotive technology and the Skyliner offered at Palm Beach is a pristine, well-maintained example.

This one of 1690 Skylarks produced in 1953, and this model was specifically designed to commemorate Buick’s 50th Anniversary. As stated by Barrett-Jackson, The 1953 Skylark was handmade in many respects. Only stampings for the hood, trunk lid and a portion of the convertible tub were shared with the standard Roadmaster and Super convertibles.” This example has been completely restored.

Johnson for Barrett-Jackson.
