Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2018 Results in Massive Money

Barrett-Jackson’s 2018 Scottsdale auction was without a doubt an incredible success for the company, the bidders, consigners, guests and the charities who were benefited by some of the lots. After everything was said and done, 1,721 cars were sold for more than $106.8 million with a sell-through rate of 99.1 percent. What’s more, an additional $6.21 million was raised by charity vehicles like the pair of Corvettes, Ford GT and first 2019 Bullitt Mustang.

Sure, the cars were cool, but there were also a lot of stars at the event. Former President George W. Bush attended the event and stood on the block during the auction of the 2018 Corvette Carbon 65 Edition. Other celebrities included Jay Leno, Michael Phelps, Kenny Chesney, David Spade, Tim Allen, Alice Cooper, Bruce Arians, Alan Williams, Archie Bradley and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey. It was, without a doubt, a star-studded event.

Being such a coveted event, duPont REGISTRY attended the event in full-force. I don’t want to jump to any assumptions, but I’d say our booth was one of the highlights of the auction. Why? Lined up next to each other was a Koenigsegg CCX (iLusso), Lamborghini Centenario (McLaren Scottsdale), and Pagani Huayra (Pagani Newport Beach)… and that wasn’t all. Joining this trio were a number of other cars as well, including a Starke Speedster, Bruiser Conversions’ Jeep, Airstream Sprinter, Porsche 911 GT3 RS (iLusso), Bentley Continental GT Speed (Lexani x Wheel Specialists Inc.), two Vanderhall Venice cars, Corvette Carbon 65 Edition with Callaway supercharger kit (Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Valley), and a Land Rover Defender (Fusion Luxury Motors). Tire Stickers was also in our booth to show off their completely customizable tire lettering for sidewalls. We would like to say thanks to all of the companies that help make our booth the best in show!

“We’re so thankful for the entire collector car community and everyone who joined together to create so many signature Barrett-Jackson moments on the block this week,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Many records were set as No Reserve vehicles continue to attract strong bidding, and our automobilia sales were the most impressive yet. It was an honor to host former President George W. Bush on our auction block – another Barrett-Jackson first – along with Chad McQueen on the 50th anniversary of his father’s famous film, ‘Bullitt.’ While every year is special at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale, this one truly stands out.”
