An extensive group of Ferrari F40s make their return to Italy.

For most passionate car collectors and enthusiasts, there isn’t a more iconic supercar than the legendary Ferrari F40. Developed and engineered from the mind of Founder Enzo Ferrari, the F40 first made its mark on the automotive scene in 1987 as the successor to the manufacturer’s coveted 288 GTO. Having played a pivotal role in motorsports with its Scuderia Ferrari F1 team, Ferrari specifically designed the F40 to incorporate everything the brand had learned through decades of racing. Now 36 years later, the impact that the F40 has left on the world has resulted in Ferrari recently organizing one of the largest F40 gatherings.

The Ferrari F40 Legacy Tour invites owners to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime journey back to the town of Modena and the famous Fiorano test track. The tour led more than 40 Ferrari F40 examples through some of Italy’s most beautiful roads, returning the 90s poster car back to the country where it first originated. After receiving a private tour through the Ferrari factory in Maranello, the group was given the opportunity to enjoy their F40s on the Fiorano track. With more than 471 horsepower and 426 lb-ft of torque at its disposal, the Ferrari F40’s 3.9L twin-turbocharged V8 still stands out as a track star amongst all the new models. Now recognized as a seven-figure collector car, it’s refreshing to see that owners are still out there enjoying the experience of driving their Ferrari F40s.
