Brabus Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² Revealed

After unveiling their take on the Mercedes-AMG GT S, Brabus has unveiled their program for the Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² today. The revealing press release notes an increase in power, bodywork modifications and interior refinement available for the model from the German aftermarket company.

The twin turbo 4.0-liter V8 sits at 422 hp from the factory, but the Brabus B40 – 500 PowerXtra performance kit adds 78 hp and 74 lb-ft of torque. This plug-and-play control module raises the SUV’s total power output up to 500 hp and 523 lb-ft of torque. This power provides a 0-62 mph times of 6.9 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 130 mph. If you’re wondering about the limited top speed, it was set in place in order to protect the all-terrain tires.

On its exterior, as with any vehicle upgraded by Brabus, are new bodywork pieces from the front to the rear. In the front are new bumper panels, a mirror-polished underride guard, hood scoop, radiator grille and headlamp surrounds, all crafted out of clear-coated carbon fiber. Brabus has also installed new lighting in the front, which is integrated into the new body pieces. The sides see new underfloor lighting for the running boards, which turn on when a door handle is pulled or when the keyless-entry remote is activated. In the rear is a new mirror-polished underride guard and bumper.

Inside this example is an exclusive interior with arrow-shaped quilting from black Mastik leather, with red accents. Brabus also used Alcantara to create the headliner and cover other various interior components. An optional feature that adds both class and functionality are the power-retractable Brabus steps.

For more information, be sure to check back tomorrow when Brabus unveils this model at the International Auto Show 2015 in Frankfurt.
