Presented by Exotics on Las Olas, By: Andrea Arandia, Dawson Pritchett, Lily Lindquist
The Beginning
The concept for Exotics on Las Olas was born about three years ago when Dawson Pritchett from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau was introduced to Floyd Rag during Floyd’s SuperCar Saturdays Florida event at Lamborghini Broward. It was then and there that Dawson and Floyd started talks about potentially producing a larger, annual car show somewhere in Broward County. The goal was to create a unique event featuring a carefully selected collection of automobiles – A showcase of the rarest, luxurious, exotic, super, hyper, custom, classic, vintage, and collector cars.
After much consideration, they decided that Las Olas Boulevard provided the ideal setting for such a show, along with a matching target demographic of attendees for the shops and restaurants.
Dawson and Floyd started to form a production team. They recruited a few key players such as Jon Hirsch, Amber VanBuren from the Las Olas Association, Andrea Arandia from 1+1 Media, Lily Linquist and Ron Watkivs. This team was in charge of the production and execution of the inaugural event.
Under the direction of Stacy Ritter, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau was not only able to help create the event but became the Title Sponsor.

A look inside – Barry Skolnick & Ikonick Motors
Some of the amazing automobiles you’ll see at Exotics on Las Olas this year are provided by lkonick Motors, a passion project of participant and philanthropist, Barry Skolnick. Some may know Barry from his recent project, the new seven-story Skolnick Surgical Tower at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach.
The Exotics on Las Olas team visited lkonick Motors to get an idea of what we’ll be seeing on the streets of Las Olas in November. Though only a fraction of Barry’s collection was there, it did not disappoint.
For the gearheads reading this, Barry owns it all. His collection ranges from 50’s American Classics to Hyper-cars like Ferrari LaFerrari, Lamborghini SVJ, a Maserati MC12, multiple McLaren Sennas, Porsche 918 Gulf Edition, DeTomaso, and he has an Apollo IE on order, just to name a few.
lkonick Motors has always been a dream for Barry and will soon be one of the largest supercar showrooms in the world.
While we have a pretty good idea of what is in store for the show this year, we can only show you a few of the cars here and you will have to come to Exotics Las Olas to see all of the cars for yourself!
ABOUT THIS YEAR
The second annual Exotics on Las Olas will take place on November 10, 2019 along the fabulous Las Olas Boulevard in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale. In its inaugural year in 2018, over 30,000 attendees visited Exotics On Las Olas, featuring over 300 of the rarest and most valuable vehicles from around the world. Presented in partnership by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Las Olas Association.
The 2018 event attendance far exceeded expectations, and this year we are on target to do it again with even more visitors projected to attend and even more amazing cars on display.
And it’s all for a great cause, as well. Exotics on Las Olas is held on Veteran’s Day and the proceeds of this event benefit The Wounded Veteran’s Relief Fund.
