All truck enthusiasts out there, take notice because Shelby American has a new 2021 Ford Shelby F-250 Super Baja truck that is a force to be reckoned with. Built for both daily driving and off-road adventures, this new heavy-duty truck checks off all of the boxes. From the powerful 6.7-liter Power Stroke® turbo diesel to the exquisite interior, there is a lot to love about the new Shelby F-250 Super Baja.
“The astounding capabilities of the Ford Shelby F-150 truck led to requests for a three-quarter-ton truck that delivered maximum towing capacity and serious off-road capabilities,” says Gary Patterson, president of Shelby American. “We leveraged expertise gained from our Shelby Raptor and Shelby F-150 programs to create the Shelby F-250 Super Baja pickup.”
As mentioned, this truck is powered by Ford’s 6.7-liter Power Stroke® turbo-diesel engine capable of producing 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque. When this power is unleashed in rough terrain, the Shelby F-250 Super Baja’s suspension comes into play. To be more specific, FOX created a Baja-style race suspension system for this new truck that gives it a higher ride height, more travel, and better off-road handling when compared to the standard F-250. This system utilizes FOX 2.5 coilovers with a remote DSC Adjustable Reservoirs and a supplemental FOX 2.5 shock with a remote Reservoir for off-road performance and on-road luxury ride quality. The cherry on top for this system is the rear FOX 2.5 Factory Race shocks with an Adjustable piggyback DSC Reservoir. What’s more, the power and suspension allow the Shelby F-250 Super Baja to deliver best-in-class towing.
When it comes to looks, the Shelby F-250 Super Baja is a menacing beast. Its aggressive appearance is made possible through several modifications, including the aforementioned higher ride height. Taking advantage of the newfound height and adding to its off-road capabilities are the 18-inch alloy wheels shod in BFG KM3 37-inch tires. The exterior is also enhanced further by the functional Ram Air Hood with extraction vent, powder-coated steel front, and rear bumpers, tow points, airflow vents, LED lighting around the truck, spare tires mounted on a steel chase rack in the bed, and Shelby stripes and badges.
Shelby American, known for their comfortable and well-appointed interiors, has also enhanced the cabin of the Shelby F-250 Super Baja. Full leather seat covers, accents, embroidery, stainless steel gauges, custom carbon fiber accents, embroidered floor mats, and billet racing pedals combine to create an interior fitting of the truck’s formidable exterior appearance.
Just 250 examples of the new 2021 Shelby F-250 Super Baja will be created, each with an MSRP starting at $125,805, including a Lariat Ultimate 4×4 Ford F-250. The trucks also come with a 3 year/36,000-mile warranty while the powertrain warranty from Ford Motor Company remains intact.
