Over the years, even decades, there have been many BRABUS Rocket models. While they have come in the form of an SUV, sedan or coupe, each have two things in common: relentless power and incredible style. With the new BRABUS 900 Rocket Edition, based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63 SUV, the German company continues this tradition and has created yet another stunning road-going rocket.
For this new super SUV, BRABUS has upped the power of the 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine to 900 horsepower and 922 lb-ft of torque. With that power, the BRABUS 900 Rocket Edition is posting supercar numbers with regard to acceleration: 0 to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 174 mph. BRABUS has ensured that this tremendous amount of power can be heard, thanks to their newly developed stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system. For those times when the driver wants to be a bit more silent, they can switch to “Coming Home” mode with the press of a button. This mode activates the valves within the exhaust system that will lower the volume of the exhaust note.
Of course, the new BRABUS 900 Rocket Edition’s power comes with a new appearance that makes it much more notable on the road than the SUV that serves as its foundation. Featuring a newly developed bodywork conversion based on the BRABUS Widestar concept, this SUV’s design is both purposeful and stylish. Additionally, the added 4-inches in width created for the Widestar version gives enough space for the 24-inch BRABUS Monoblock Z “PLATINUM EDITION” alloy wheels. When it comes to the finish, either the “Signature Black” or “Stealth Gray” paint are the options.
For the cabin, BRABUS can, of course, create the interior of the client’s dreams. However, they have also introduced a new bespoke BRABUS Masterpiece interior. Black leather graces the cabin while crest-shaped quilting can be found on the seat, trim, and footwells. For the Stealth Gray example, controls and topstitching match the exterior paint. As for the BRABUS 900 ROCKET Edition in Signature Black, red is used.
