The Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 started as a homologation special with a planned production run of just 500 units. However, Porsche ended up producing 1,580 examples in total, thanks to customer demand.

Of that production run, 200 units were the ultra-light Sport model, which weighed just 2,116 pounds. Combine such a light body with a 207-horsepower 2.7-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, and you get a car that, in the 70s, rocketed to 62 mph in just 5.8 seconds. However, as publications of the time noted, this official time seemed underrated.

Of that small production run, most cars are Touring trims, which add creature comforts like carpeting, rear seats, and a glove compartment. The vehicle listed for sale today is a 1973 Touring with 72,726 miles on the clock. It’s offered in excellent condition by Lamborghini Paramus out of New Jersey. This particular example wears a Gulf Orange exterior with a black leather interior.
