The Mercedes-Benz SL65 Black Series is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after modern AMGs. With just 175 examples ever reaching the U.S. market, it’s unique and rare. However, the vehicle listed for sale today is rarer still, thanks to its Renntech modifications.
This SL65 is listed by Driven Emotions out of Lake Park, Florida, and shows just 6,123 miles on the clock. This example sports a white exterior, with white details on its wheels, along with all of the carbon-fiber options available when new. This includes a carbon fiber retractable rear spoiler and a sizable rear diffuser.
In standard form, the SL65 Black Series develops 661 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque from its twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12. That power goes to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, the Black Series shed around 210 pounds compared to a standard SL65.
In 2009, a Black Series cost around $300,000, making it over $100,000 more than a standard SL65, thanks to its extensive use of carbon fiber. Today, however, these collector AMGs have seen tremendous appreciation and will likely continue to do so.
