With the environment at the forefront of global discussions, Swiss watch brands are doing their part to champion sustainability and planet awareness. Many have implemented new reporting procedures and are creating carbon-free footprints, supporting green causes, and turning to recycled and upcycled materials.

Family-owned brand Norqain unveils its Wild One Hakuna Mipaka x Dean Schneider watch that boasts a khaki-colored, animal-friendly rubber strap. The watch includes sand in the shock absorber that comes from the Hakuna Mipaka Oasis, where it supports a lion sanctuary founded by brand ambassador Dean Schneider. This automatic mechanical watch, which retails for $5,590, is made of high-performance Norteq, a proprietary carbon fiber composite whose leftovers are recycled and upcycled.

The brand also makes a commitment to sustainability with its Aquis Date Upcycle. The 41.5-millimeter timepiece, priced at $2,300, features a dial made completely of recycled PET bottles. The Diver Net x The Ocean Race watch, created in a limited edition of 200 pieces, $11,900 each, boasts a case made of 40 percent carbonium and 60 percent recycled fishing nets, along with a strap made from PET bottles.
