Italian Battle: Ferrari 360 Modena vs Lamborghini Gallardo Race

Back in 1999, Ferrari put the 360 Modena into production to replace the F355. It came with a 3.6-liter V8 engine, lighter body and, unlike its predecessor, did not have pop-up headlights. Production on the 360 Modena ended in 2005 after multiple variants had been created, including the Spider, Challenge Stradale and GT.

In 2003, Lamborghini started production on the Gallardo, a new breed of V10 sports cars from the Italian automaker. It was offered with a six-speed manual transmission or the “E-gear” semi-automatic six-speed transmission. The Gallardo went on to become Lamborghini’s best selling model and was created in many forms, including the LP 570-4 Superleggera.

Both of these cars started their lives just year apart and dominated the early 2000s. Now, more than a decade after their births, how do they stack up?
