Gas Monkey Garage Ferrari F40 Build Up For Auction, Again

Gas Monkey Garage, in 2013, took a damaged Ferrari F40 into their shop and refurbished it, breathing new life into it. Shortly after its unveiling, the car was auctioned off through Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction in 2014. Since then, it has changed hands multiple times and now it’s back up for auction after it was taken by the U.S. Marshals Service.

As far as what Gas Monkey Garage did to the car, it’s quite a bit but all came together beautifully. It’s outside was finished in a glossy black finish, which is complemented by black HRE wheels. You can spot a hint of red in the rear where it reads “F40” on the rear wing. Up front are new LED headlights that replaced the OEM ones. Gas Monkey Garage even added some ‘‘ into the powertrain by way of upgrading the internals of the stock turbochargers and replacing the exhaust system. All of these changes upped the classic Ferrari’s power from 471 horsepower to 550 hp.

The auction is being handled by Apple Auctioneering Co., who is offering the F40 on their website. As of writing this, it sits with a high bid of $503,000 and has been bid on 39 times. If you’re in adding this to your collection or just want to see where the price is at, click the button below. Those wanting to bid ought to act fast as the auction ends on February 11, 2019.
