One of the best ways to overtake your opponents is to carry more speed through the corners. Ferrari made a radical departure from previous designs in the new 488 Pista. A giant grille opening feeds air to a heat extractor in the hood. This keeps the front wheels glued to the pavement.

The air intakes in the quarter panels are used to feed cool air to the turbos on the 488 GTB, on the Pista they have become intercoolers.
