At the AutoMoto d’Epoca show in Bologna, Ferrari Classiche announced a partnership that reinforces its mission to preserve the brand’s heritage with the same precision that built it. The agreement with the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA) means that Ferraris awarded the official Certificate of Authenticity will now automatically qualify for a FIVA Identity Card, a key credential required for participation in many prestigious historic car events around the world. For collectors, the connection between Maranello and FIVA bridges Ferrari’s certification process and the global standards for automotive authenticity.
Ferrari Classiche, founded in 2006, is headquartered within the marque’s Maranello factory, a fitting home for the department that guards the soul of Ferrari’s past. Every vehicle that passes through its doors is treated as a living piece of history, meticulously examined for originality in everything from engine components to bodywork. The Certificate of Authenticity is a stamp of approval and a statement that the car is as Enzo intended. Over the years, legends such as the 250 GTO, F40 LM, 288 GTO, and Daytona Competizione have undergone the extensive process, emerging with renewed provenance and a direct line to the Prancing Horse’s storied history.
On display at the FIVA stand was a 1957 Pinin Farina-bodied 250 GT coupé, notable for being the first Ferrari Classiche-certified car to receive the FIVA ID Card. It’s a fitting example of the kind of craftsmanship and lineage both organizations seek to protect. For Ferrari owners, it’s a way to preserve the legacy of Maranello’s finest creations, keeping their histories not just alive, but officially recognized around the world.
