2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 for Sale

By 2011, the 991 series Porsche 911 was almost production-ready. So in order to give the 997 series a proper farewell, the 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 received some serious upgrades. By taking the crankshaft directly from the 911 RSR race car, the street-legal GT3 RS was bumped up to 4.0 liters of furious flat-six. It offers 500 horsepower at 8,250 rpm and 339 lb-ft of torque. Variocam-Plus allows for independent timing of intake and exhaust cams, and a two-stage intake manifold offers torque across a wide plateau.

It will stand the test of time as the first naturally aspirated 911 to offer 125 horsepower per liter. As one of the most efficient engines to-date, it makes use of high flow intakes and exhaust systems. More than just a big engine, the 4.0 was a model unto itself. Standard equipment included PCCB composite brakes, front end lift, and impressive aerodynamics.

As one of the most highly optioned examples we’ve seen, it also has climate control and power windows. Thankfully the PDK transmission was omitted, so you get to enjoy the thrill of a proper heel-toe downshifts. It is 22 lbs lighter than its predecessor thanks to carbon fiber fenders and trunk lid. Even the connecting rods were forged from titanium to build this featherweight supercar. Only 600 examples of the GT3 RS 4.0 were produced for the world, and it will stand the test of time as the 997’s Grand Finale. Click the link below to learn more about this pristine Porsche.
