Many of the young ones will be looking for Easter Eggs, but the ‘Egg you want has just arrived. Our friends at iLusso in Costa Mesa have found a stunning 2014 Koenigsegg Agera R. The blue carbon fiber body has (real) gold accents, and it has only been driven 3,100 miles.
Christian von Koenigsegg described his creation as “Thor’s Hammer” because it took lessons learned on the previous Agera series to refine the car. Only 14 examples of this car were built, so you will probably never see another, let alone come across one for sale. Since he patented the Flex Fuel system as a teenager, this car can run anything from 95 octane fuel to pure E100 ethanol, and any mixture of the two.

The fuel system continually monitors the ethanol content, so if you choose to fill up on moonshine, it will unlock the car’s full potential. Pure ethanol allows the engine to make 1,400 horsepower and 885 lb-ft of torque. The 5.0 liter twin-turbo V8 is their own design, and it has internal features that will blow your mind. As a side note, it also creates less harmful emissions than your daily driver.

The Agera R was also the first production car with ceramic brake pistons. Brakes get spongy when the calipers become heat-soaked. So this seems like a no-brainer that will keep stopping reliably in any situation. The carbon fiber wheels are also made in-house, and they offer the least un-sprung weight in any production car. This makes the ride incredibly smooth while offering traction in any situation.
Another patent held by Koenigsegg is that every electrical device in the car is solid-state. That means there are no relays, fuses, or solenoids to worry about when owning a Koenigsegg. Sure, other automakers could do this, but they need your repeat service visits for more profit. All Koenigsegg models and especially the Agera R represent where supercars will be in a few decades.
