Mecum Smashes World Record: First Car Auction To Pass $200 Million in Sales in One Event

Mecum Auctions just put a truly historic event in Kissimmee.

While we were most definitely excited for Mecum Auctions’ Kissimmee event, we are even more excited to announce the event’s insane results. All of the numbers are in and Mecum Auctions has announced that their total sales from the event were $217 million. That result makes the 2022 event the first collector car auction to ever pass the $200 million mark. Not only did Mecum break the previous record of $176 million, they absolutely obliterated it thanks to the incredible cars and sell-through rate of 90 percent. Below are the top sellers from the event. Sitting at number one is a 1965 Shelby GT350R Prototype that’s known to be one of the most significant Mustangs in the world and was driven by Ken Miles to achieve the nickname the “Flying Mustang.”
