Featured on the cover of the October 2017 issue of “duPont Registry,” it has been skilfully personalized by the wizards at McLaren Special Operations in a way that even in a gathering of the most incredible supercars on the planet, it is sure to stand alone as rolling art possessed of mind-bending performance and swathed in the most striking plumage imaginable.
Its flowing features inspired by the Great White Shark, the car’s visible carbon fiber exterior skin positively glows in MSO Bespoke Rolls-Royce Fuxia Fuchsia paint (specially mixed and named for Mr. Fux, who is the only person permitted to order this special color), contrasted inside by supple MSO Bespoke White leather with white stitching and fuchsia-painted highlights on the doors, vent bezels and steering wheel.
The elegant twin-hinge dihedral doors, Gorilla Glass upper section with Pack 3 glass exterior upgrade, and LED lighting are complemented with all three carbon fiber exterior upgrade packages, carbon fiber rear diffuser and Pirelli P-Zero-shod MSO Bespoke super-lightweight alloy wheels with body-color pinstripes.
The 720’s stunning cosmetics are matched by the brilliantly engineered performance it brings to bear, beginning with its carbon fiber Monocage II chassis. The integrated extruded aluminum rear subframe is home to McLaren’s incredible red light-accented 4.0L/710 HP twin-turbocharged V-8 engine with Sport exhaust and dual-clutch 7-speed automatic gearbox, putting power to the pavement through McLaren Adaptive Damping double-wishbone independent suspension with damping and roll controls for Comfort, Sport and Track, carbon-ceramic two-piece disc brakes with polished calipers.
The driver’s environment features the 720S Luxury Package and is everything we have come to expect from one of the world’s most prolific supercar manufacturers (and second-most successful Formula 1 constructor). The leather-wrapped, heated, carbon fiber seats and steering column offer electric adjustment and memory settings; the portrait screen information center with navigation and Bluetooth, 12-speaker audio system, Active Dynamic Control panel and dual-zone climate controls all group closely within the driver’s reach.
