The top seller was a 1962 Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato.
RM Sotheby’s was finally able to put on their flagship auction at Monterey Car Week and they did so with incredible results. Over the course of their three-night auction, they posted $148.5 million in sales with a 90 percent sell-through rate. RM Sotheby’s also noted that bids came from 34 different countries with 20 percent of them representing new clients. To reach such a high amount in sales, 44 lots exceeded $1 million, 16 exceeded $3 million and 4 exceeded $5 million. The top seller was a 1962 Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato that sold for $9,520,000, while two classic Ferraris were in second and third place. For the third night, RM Sotheby’s offered up The Fox Collection with each lot being sold without reserve. Included in this collection were some of the most incredible modern supercars and hypercars, like a 2012 Lexus LFA Nurburgring that sold for $1.6 million.
