The Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, France was just the site of one of the most anticipated and electrifying European automotive auctions in years. RM Sotheby’s used the track to sell an incredible and rare single-owner collection of 77 cars, with bidders from all over the world and nearly 40 million Euros made from the event. Every car sold was iconic, unique, and rich with history and heritage, but the ten most expensive sales stood out above the rest:
- 1955 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione – 6,192,500 Euros
- 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet Series I – 4,420,625 Euros
- 2005 Ferrari 575 GTC – 2,648,750 Euros
- 1976 Renault-Alpine A442 – 2,255,000 Euros
- 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB – 2,142,500 Euros
- 1981 Ferrari 512 BB/LM – 1,973,750 Euros
- 1965 Iso Grifo A3/C – 1,805,000 Euros
- 1975 Lamborghini Countach LP400 ‘Periscopio’ – 905,000 Euros
- 1933 Delage D8 S Cabriolet – 848,750 Euros
- 1993 Jaguar XJ220 C LM – 826,250 Euros
Even beyond the top 10 list, all kinds of incredible cars were sold, including the world’s most expensive Ferrari Testarossa, and an example of the 1987 Zagato-designed Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
