Presented by Rusnak/Westlake Porsche – In the early 1990s Porsche had two lightweight cars for the Americas, the RS America produced from 1992-1994 and the 1992 964 Carrera Cup USA model which was originally produced for the single-make Carrera Cup racing series. This cup series which started in Germany, France and other European countries did not materialize in the US that year. Porsche sold these rare cars through dealers after complying with U.S. import regulations.
This 1992 Grand Prix White Carrera Cup 911 is one of only twenty-five Cup cars shipped to America to participate in the 1992 U.S. Carrera Cup spec series.
This 964 variant is in fact a race car returned to street-legal trim by Andial after Porsche cancelled the U.S. Carrera Cup championship.
The 1992 Carrera Cup cars kept many racing upgrades such as reinforced chassis, an engine power increase, and reduced weight. This is a matching numbers car verified on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
