Spring Cleaning is a great time to part ways with superfluous sundries, so Ford has donated over $100,000 of leather to help Detroit’s veterans. This is where concept cars are made ready for production, and it is where interior designers finalized the leatherwork in the King Ranch and Lincoln Black Label trucks.
Cleaning out the building to make way for demolition yielded a treasure trove in the basement. Not wanting these hides to be tossed, they are being donated to Pingree Detroit. This operation employs veterans who craft boots, wallets, and accessories to learn a trade and earn a living wage. The other beneficiary is Mend on the Move, a nonprofit that employs abuse victims in greater Detroit.
