Only a few weeks separate us from now and the beginning of 2016, when the much anticipated revival of the Ford GT race car.

From refining their existing technologies, to developing new ones that will appear in other models down the line, preparing the GT for peak performance holds countless opportunities for the American manufacturer.

Of course, the main opportunity will arrive with the new year, when it’s ready for the track. All of this development goes toward perfecting the primary function of the American supercar. As Raj Nair, Group Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of Ford’s Global Product Development describes, “This car’s function is to win at Le Mans.”
