With the revival of the GT and introduction of the 727 hp Mustang GT King Edition, Ford is pushing its production cars’ power up to near-supercar levels, meaning it’s time for them to look at a few new pairs of shoes.
Shoes, that is, for those high-performance cars.
The American manufacturer announced in a press release today that they have partnered up with Michelin to create new tires capable of handling all the power a high-performance car can throw at it. As the release tells us, they’ll develop tires “for the Ford Performance vehicle lineup, including Ford GT, Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT350R Mustang, Fiesta ST, Focus ST and RS and F-150 Raptor.”
Michelin will also be assisting Ford at the 2016 Le Mans races, where the revived GT will be returning to the track. Unique tires will be crafted for each car and each circumstance as a result of this official partnership, with standard and optional tire variants made available to all customers.
Stay with us to learn more about updates to the Ford Performance lineup, and find your own Ford to fit with these newly developed tires from our listings.
