Blue Oval engineers had a goal to offer best-in-class fuel economy and towing ability, so it has 430 horsepower and a stump-pulling 475 torques from the factory.
So once it arrived in Texas, the team realized that nobody in the aftermarket had stepped up to see what it is capable of. Starting with their belt-driven intake manifold, the Hennessey supercharger and their proprietary intercooler were added. That boost needs to be heard, so a new exhaust was fabricated from stem to stern. After 200 miles of real-world testing, the computer received instructions for safe ignition and fuel mapping. The dyno doesn’t lie, and it shows 700 horsepower and 722 lb-ft of torque. This is without touching the cam or heads, so there is undoubtedly more power to be had.
