However, Shelby is far from done with getting the maximum performance out of the Ford Mustang, and the new Code Red upgrade for the Shelby GT500 is proof that when it comes to power and speed, the sky is the limit. The new Code Red upgrade is a package that adds incredible amounts of power, and also comes with a wider body, new wheels, new tires, new axels, a retuned suspension, a reworked interior and other aspects upgraded. Better yet, it’s inspired by an experimental twin-turbocharged V8 Shelby Mustang also called the Code Red, and this upgrade does even better than making the original Code Red’s vision into reality.

With E85 Ethanol fuel, the Shelby GT500 Code Red will be good for a mind-blowing 1,300 horsepower and 1,000 lb/ft of torque, which are hypercar numbers coming from the basis of the American pony car. This comes thanks to opting for a twin-turbocharged powertrain rather than the existing supercharged one. However, if you think that the opportunity to own a car this amazing will be rare, you would be right. Only 30 of these beasts will be made, from 10 Shelby GT500s from each model year from 2020 to 2022. The MSRP of the package starts at $209,995, and that doesn’t include the base car. Production has begun in Las Vegas and 2020-2022 Shelby GT500 owners can contact Shelby American about turning their cars into Code Red editions with unthinkable amounts of performance.
