With more power comes more off-road thrills.
The introduction of the Ford F-150 Raptor R delighted many Raptor fans, as it represented a return to form, bringing a V8 engine back to the high-performance off-road pickup for the first time since the truck’s first generation, introduced for the 2010 model year. When it was first introduced, its 5.4-liter engine produced 310 horsepower, and a 6.2-liter V8 was also available with 411 horsepower.
Now, the 2024 Ford Raptor R boasts an incredible 720 horsepower, which is a 20-horsepower increase from the 700 horsepower that the 2023 model year of the truck had. By reducing air inlet losses and recalibrating the engine for a wider torque curve, Ford was able to squeeze another 20 horsepower from its incredible Ford Performance-built 5.2-liter supercharged V8.
What that increased power translates to is more thrilling off-road and Baja action, more sand kicked up with a bigger cloud of smoke left behind you at full throttle. With its 720 horsepower, the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor R is the pinnacle of Raptor off-road performance, and a proud celebration of the Raptor’s incredible legacy after 14 amazing years of creating Baja-inspired off-road thrills.
