The new Hummer EV is revolutionary, but when you compare it to the rather controversial Hummer lineup we knew before, it gets even better. The Hummer EV continues the Hummer’s DNA of being an attention-commanding, large, and bold vehicle while removing the past Hummer’s woes of an inefficient, impractical powertrain with a larger carbon footprint than the ar itself. With its new electric powertrain, everything changes, and the Hummer EV becomes capable of things that we would have never thought possible, like the fact that the GMC Hummer EV horsepower is as much as 1000 for the pickup truck and 830 for the SUV, and the fact that the GMC Hummer EV review completely lacks the con of emissions from a gasoline engine. The new GMC Hummer EV specs have quite impressive numbers to show off, and what they translate to is a driving experience that completely defies what we thought Hummer was about before, and a vehicle that is one of the most dynamic, rugged, and capable vehicles available, all with an iconic look to go with. At only 106 mph, the GMC Hummer EV top speed is not putting down hypercar numbers, but where it does put down hypercar numbers is in acceleration. Needless to say, the GMC Hummer EV engine isn’t really an engine. The powertrain consists of a 212.7-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which provides power for three electric motors: one to drive the front wheels, and two to drive the rear wheels. Altogether, the system is able to provide as much as 1000 horsepower, but that’s far from the only advantage it has over a gasoline counterpart. The lack of an engine under the hood means that you get the bonus of added covered storage space in the front of the vehicle, which can be a serious advantage for truck owners who want to store things that they don’t necessarily want to be in an open bed. Super Cruise is also available, which is GM’s semi-autonomous driving system, along with flat-folding seats for storage, a front trunk, and a stunning Infinity Roof which features “sky panels” that can be placed and removed modularly for the perfect open-air experience and panoramic drive.
