McLaren Hires Former Ferrari CTO as CEO

McLaren’s new CEO brings even more engineering and technology expertise to the brand.

British supercar manufacturer McLaren has announced the appointment of a new CEO, Michael Leiters. He is a German-born doctor of Engineering, and his previous experience includes senior positions at Porsche and a time as the Chief Technology Officer of Ferrari. He comes to McLaren taking the helm of a 3,000-person workforce with over 100 retailers, and the brand is set to begin deliveries on the hybrid McLaren Artura soon.

McLaren has thus far seen great success. Despite the pandemic and global issues, it has managed to sell out of the popular limited-production 765LT Coupe and Spider, as well as the Ulitmate Series McLaren Elva. Lieters says that he is “excited to be joining McLaren Automotive as CEO at this important moment in its journey” and promises a McLaren that continues to build its reputation as a supercar brand and create a beautiful, lasting legacy.
