What Made The CCXR Trevita One Of Koenigsegg’s Most Complex Creations

With the task of engineering hypercars that push the boundaries of design and performance, manufacturers are faced with the difficulties of engineering and producing new technology that will separate themselves from the competition. Koenigsegg felt the pressure when creating one of its most complex creations in history in 2010, the ultra-exclusive CCXR ‘Trevita.’ With plans on producing three special-edition CCXRs that featured an entire white carbon fiber body, Koenigsegg’s in-house engineers went to work to learn how to manufacture the totally unique material.

The method of creating a white carbon weave required Koenigsegg to coat every fiber with a diamond finish, which ultimately lengthened the production time as it was processed carefully in small quantities. The complexity behind the shimmering diamond weave bodywork caused Koenigsegg to cut the CCXR Trevita from three configurations to only two. Equipped with Koenigsegg’s innovative 4.8L twin-supercharged V8 engine that produces 888 horsepower and 693 lb-ft of torque, the CCXR Trevita came with plenty of power to complement its one-off design. Even to today’s standards, the $4.8M CCXR Trevita continues its legacy as one of Koenigsegg’s rarest, most expensive, and most complex hypercars ever created.
