Koenigsegg Regera Assembly Line Uncovered by Christian

Koenigsegg Assembly Line

Technology meets raw power in a delicate dance

Perfection can’t be rushed when it comes to multi-million dollar cars. So instead of turning out as many cars as possible, here is the Koenigsegg Regera assembly line uncovered by Christian. In their latest upload, we get a peek at what it takes to harness 1,500 horsepower. The Regera combines their own 5-liter V8 with twin turbos and the world’s most advanced hybrid system. With electrical and leatherworking take place upstairs, the ground floor consists of 8 stations. Each station represents one week of production time from the bare cockpit to the fire-breathing beast.

The engine and axles are installed as one unit, but the transmission is notably absent and that’s why we love the Koenigsegg Regera. That’s because the Regera doesn’t have one. Instead, it makes use of electric motors at each rear wheel to move the car up to 80 mph. Then the driveshaft couples to the engine’s crankshaft to form Koenigsegg Direct Drive.

The power is supplied by another motor/generator that takes the place of a bellhousing. As if that wasn’t enough, every electrical component from light bulbs to A/C actuators is solid-state. This makes it the most efficient car on the market, and capable of going 0-249 mph-0 in only 31.49 seconds. Transmissions are just dead weight, and that’s why you need a Regera to reign over you!
