To those of us in the United States, the dream of the Autobahn is mythical.
The idea of being at the wheel of an incredible car on a road without a speed limit seems like something that could never be real, and through the magic of YouTube, we find out that it indeed is real, just not for us. In this video from AutoTopNL, we get to have a look at what driving a Lamborghini Aventador S at over 200 miles per hour on the Autobahn is like.
When it comes to speed, for decades of automotive history, 200 has been the magic number. Even today, cars that are capable of such speeds are members of an exclusive club of supercars, hypercars, and otherwise painstakingly engineered machines. The Aventador S is one of these, with a 6.5 liter, naturally aspirated V12 engine giving the car 740 horsepower, and an all-wheel-drive system that gets the car to 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds, towards a top speed of 217 miles per hour.

Here in the States, we are seriously jealous of the experience of pushing an incredible car to its limits, and until we get an Autobahn of our own, we’ll have to settle for driving at less thrilling speeds.
