Lamborghini is Now in Space

On November 2, 2019, Lamborghini became the first automaker to have their own materials sent to the International Space Station. The scientists on the ISS will be testing the responses of five materials when subjected to extreme stresses. Lamborghini is hoping the results of these tests will help them in the future application of these materials on automobiles and more, like the medical field. Sponsoring this testing campaign is the ISS U.S. National Laboratory and it’s all being overseen by the Houston Methodist Research Institute.

Taking the materials up to the ISS was a vehicle that’s definitely quicker than a Lamborghini supercar, but not as stylish. It was a Northrop Grumman Antares rocket, which launched from the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
