Lamborghini’s New Flagship Will Have 1,001 Horsepower

Since we found out that the Aventador Ultimae would be the final flagship Lamborghini supercar to feature a “pure” naturally aspirated V12 engine, we’ve been waiting to find out exactly what the next chapter would look like, and now, it’s all starting to come together. We have known for a while that the new Lamborghini flagship supercar would be a hybrid V12, and we’ve seen limited-edition, Aventador-based hybrids like the new Countach and Sian that both preview the performance ability of the hybrid powertrain. However, details of the new hybrid powertrain have now begun to be revealed.

The new flagship, codenamed LB744, will feature a 6.5-liter V12 engine, the most powerful ever made by the Fighting Bull brand, and compared to the Aventador, it is mounted in the reverse direction to achieve, with the transverse-mounted 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and electric motor perfect weight distribution. The total power output will be an incredible 1,001 horsepower. The plug-in hybrid can be charged in as little as 30 minutes and features an all-electric four-wheel drive that is primarily front-wheel drive but can also drive the rear wheels with electric power on demand. Compared to the Aventador, overall emissions are reduced by 30%. Lamborghini’s new era is on the horizon, and it’s faster, cleaner, and more innovative than ever.
