Lamborghini celebrates 60 years of history in the best place to do that: its museum.
It was in 1963 when Lamborghini was first founded, which means that this year will be the brand’s 60th anniversary. For the entirety of that time, Lamborghini has been responsible for making some of the world’s most desirable supercars with unmistakable design, unbeatable performance, and undeniable luxury. On its 60th anniversary year, the brand has transformative changes on the horizon, having said goodbye to not only the Aventador itself but to the “pure” naturally-aspirated V12-powered flagship supercars from the brand as a whole. The Aventador’s upcoming replacement is coming very soon, and it will serve as a major part of an entire year of 60th-anniversary celebrations for the brand.

To kick off the anniversary year, Lamborghini has revitalized its museum: the Museo Automobili Lamborghini in the brand’s hometown of Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. The museum features a new design and layout, and a new special exhibition for the anniversary, which is called “The Future Began In 1963.” The exhibition lays out a narrative, taking its visitors on a journey through the chronologically-ordered history of the Lamborghini brand, starting in 1963 and showing Lamborghini’s early triumphs, with cars like the 350 GT, Miura, prototype Countach, and the iconically controversial LM002. It then goes into contemporary legends like the Diablo, Murcielago, Aventador, and more, and shows the incredible rarities from Lamborghini like the Reventon, Sesto Elemento, and Veneno, and more recently, the Sian and Countach LPI 800-4, the two cars which foretell the future of Lamborghini as it begins to explore electrification for future performance. As a new and very different Lamborghini approaches, fans of the brand can look back on everything that led up to the Lamborghini we know today.
