James Bond’s SPECTRE Defender Heading to Auction

We don’t know why studios choose to destroy cars once filming is over. Anyone would like to feel like Agent 007, so your opportunity has arrived. In their latest press release, our friends at Silverstone Auctions revealed that James Bond’s SPECTRE Defender is heading to auction.

It will be the featured lot in their online auction on May 23rd. Not your standard movie-prop, this is a fully-loaded Land Rover Defender SVX built by the legends at Bowler. EON Productions commissioned them to build 10 examples, and this is the first one to be offered to the public.

Each example rides on a stiffened chassis and 37″ tires. A hydraulic rear brake handle allows for perfect drifts through an urban setting, and the horsepower was increased to 180. Five of them were tuned for high-speed chases, with the others built for the snowy scenes. This is a snow model, and one of 7 survivors as 3 were destroyed while filming. Other lots for the auction include 3 Aston Martins with incredible history and two SL65 AMG with low mileage. Click the button to learn more and stay with us for all your auction updates.
