The Land Rover Defender is a car with a long and important history, being one of the formative vehicles of off-road driving as a whole, and starting a decades-long legacy of Land Rover off-road prowess. As one of the world’s most iconic off-road vehicles, the Defender has gone through many changes and been an integral part of rally and off-roading history since its inception. The latest iteration of the Defender is an SUV that marries the Defender’s legacy and historic dependability with Land Rover’s excellent modern capabilities, creating a car that pays a beautiful homage to the original while being the latest and greatest in terms of looks, ability, and performance. While the 007 one-off Defender will for the time being remain with Land Rover, you can buy a Defender and own both an excellent modern SUV and a part of one of the world’s most important automotive legacies.
