It’s no secret that the automotive industry is changing with electrification and hybridization, and for many manufacturers, larger engines like V12s, V10s, and even V8s are leaving the landscape. Maserati’s Ghibli, Quattroporte, and Levante Trofeo models are currently powered by a 572-horsepower V8 engine, and all three in their current V8 powered form will be discontinued this year. With the introduction of the GranTurismo Folgore and Grecale Folgore, Maserati is embarking on an electrified future as a brand, and as these cars cease production, Maserati says that they are destined to a future as collectors’ masterpieces.

At this year’s Motor Valley Fest in Italy, these cars are being celebrated, along with the GranTurismo Folgore and Grecale Folgore that will be taking their place as Maserati’s pinnacle of performance and luxury. In addition, as a final celebration of the V8 Trofeo cars, Maserati is set to reveal the Ghibli 334 Ultima and Levante V8 Ultima at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. With the Zèda Editions of the V8 Trofeo cars on display at this year’s Motor Valley Fest, Maserati is ending a long and important era in the best way possible.
