McLaren celebrates its history in the Japanese market with an exclusive 750S series.
McLaren just made waves in the automotive world with the debut of the 750S JC96, a limited-edition supercar built exclusively for Japan. This marks the first time McLaren has created a model solely for the Japanese market, and only 61 examples will be produced, reflecting the race number of the F1 GTR that clinched the 1996 All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship. Available as both a coupe and Spider, the JC96 combines motorsport DNA with bespoke craftsmanship from McLaren Special Operations (MSO), making it a collector’s dream and a sincere tribute to McLaren’s deep racing roots in Japan.

The JC96 draws inspiration from the legendary McLaren F1 GTRs that competed in the 1996 JGTC, particularly the Team Goh car shared by John Nielsen and David Brabham. With its iconic “Tiger Stripe” Rocket Pink and Tarmac Grey livery, that car went on to secure the Driver’s Championship. The JC96 celebrates that success, translating the spirit of 1990s endurance racing into a modern road-going supercar. Customers can even order a hand-painted “JC96 Tribute Livery” by MSO, strictly limited to just four cars, a direct link between past motorsport heroes and McLaren’s modern marvels.

Visually, the 750S JC96 sets itself apart with details that pay homage to its motorsport roots. It debuts the MSO High Downforce Kit (HDK), now available on the Spider for the first time, featuring a reworked front bumper, dual-element splitter, louvered underbody, and raised active rear spoiler. Together, they generate up to 10% more downforce. New 15-spoke ultra-lightweight forged alloy wheels, inspired by F1 GTR Longtails, pair with F1 Gold calipers wearing red McLaren logos. Customers can choose their own body color and match it with special JC96 paint accents on the mirrors, splitter, and wing endplates in Memphis Red, Titanium Silver, Ice White, or Graphite Grey.

Inside, the JC96 channels the cockpit of the F1 GTR while maintaining McLaren’s signature lightweight, driver-focused DNA. Buyers get three Alcantara Performance interior options, each accented with JC96 logos embroidered on the headrests and armrests. Gold-finished pedals, switches, and dedication plaques recognize the race-winning cars while adding a touch of exclusivity. Even the paddle shifters and steering clasp receive bespoke finishes. For those wanting to go deeper, MSO offers bespoke interior livery packs and painted key options, making each JC96 as personal as it is historic.

Underneath the exclusivity, the JC96 retains the heart of the 750S, a mid-mounted 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, delivering 740 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Paired with the carbon fiber Monocage II chassis and Proactive Chassis Control III suspension, the JC96 is one of the lightest and most agile supercars in its class. For track drivers, optional Pirelli P ZERO Corsa and Trofeo R tires unlock the 750S’ true potential.
Exclusivity is the name of the game with the McLaren 750S JC96. Only 61 units will ever be built, all destined for Japanese customers. With motorsport heritage, bespoke detailing, and cutting-edge McLaren performance, the JC96 is a rolling celebration of McLaren’s racing history in Japan.
