2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Tested By Top Gear

AMG Black Series

To prove the virility of flat-plane engines, the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series has been tested by Top Gear. Adopting a new firing order has given their flagship supercar an Italian sound, something that Ford, McLaren, and Chevrolet have used to reach astonishing RPMs.

Now that their 4-liter V8 can breathe easily above 7,000 rpm, boost from the turbos was increased to offer 720 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Top Gear points out that the myriad of buttons normally found on the center console has been combined into the multi-function steering wheel.

Other goodies include a titanium roll bar and racing harnesses as part of the track package. The only other option is choosing between hard or soft Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires. This gorgeous, track-focused AMG is the 6th model to wear the Black Series badge, and pricing starts at $326,050. Click the button below to find our dealer near you.
