With half of the year over, Mercedes-Benz continues to struggle with the supply crisis.

With second-quarter sales of 79,105 Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles in the United States this year, combined with 19,730 vans, Mercedes-Benz sold 98,835 vehicles this quarter, which is an increase of 6.9 percent compared to the same period last year. However, this increase is still not enough to compensate for the difficulty that the supply chain put on last quarter, as for Mercedes-Benz USA, 2022 year-to-date sales are still down by 4.2 percent compared to year-to-date sales at the same time in 2021.

Volume leaders for the quarter were unsurprisingly the GLC, GLE, and C-Class models, as the C-Class has always been a staple for Mercedes-Benz, and the luxury SUV has been a popular segment for American customers. Sales of electric vehicles continue to grow for the brand, as the Mercedes-EQ EQS sedan sold 1,959 units, contributing to a total of 4,048 units sold year-to-date. Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned sales, however, are an even bigger success, with 2022’s year-to-date sales number of 66,025 marking the second-highest figure for the first half of a year that Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned has ever enjoyed.
