A press release by Daimler this morning confirms the powertrains are already in production and they have every other electric car in their crosshairs.
The highest energy density of any production battery, they are using cobalt and manganese instead of lithium. This allows it to offer 108 kWh while constantly optimizing efficiency based on your driving habits. Built in a carbon-neutral plant, the other half of the assembly line will be dedicated to recycling and refreshing their batteries once the lease is up.
