Hvar Island, the gem of Croatia’s Adriatic coast, known for its historic architecture and lavish tourism, is playing host to the futuristic Rimac Nevera, the world’s fastest all-electric hypercar. This high-performance machine takes up residence at the heart of Hvar from 24th July to 10th August, presenting an intriguing blend of Croatia’s past splendors and its advanced technological future.

The iconic Hvar Square, enveloped by centuries-old buildings, serves as the backdrop for this unique spectacle. In a short span of time, the town’s old-world charm will rub shoulders with the cutting-edge technology of Rimac’s Nevera, designed, engineered, and manufactured on the outskirts of Zagreb.

This Croatian auto innovation, christened after the intense ‘Nevera’ storm that occasionally graces Hvar island, mirrors its namesake’s might and transience. With over 20 records under its belt, including the fastest 0-60mph, 0-100mph, and 0-200mph, the Nevera assumes the role of both a luxurious GT electric vehicle to a record-setting hypercar.

Test drives will be on offer, giving select drivers the chance to maneuver the 1,914hp Nevera along Hvar’s picturesque coastal roads. Participants will get to feel the power of Nevera’s advanced R-AWTV 2 (Rimac All-Wheel Torque Vectoring) system while marveling at the striking views of the azure Adriatic Sea, stunning Pakleni Islands, and rugged shoreline.

Adding to the excitement, Rimac plans on fostering a meaningful bond with Hvar by nurturing local talent. Hvar’s elementary and high schools will be included in STEM-IT projects, and Rimac’s technical mavens will host informative workshops for students. Equipment such as 3D printers will be supplied, further cultivating the younger generation’s interest in tech.

Mate Rimac, founder and CEO of Rimac Group, underscores the importance of the brand’s Croatian heritage. The Nevera, a symbol of Croatia’s modernity and innovation, finds resonance with the legendary Croatian storm it’s named after, and even the classic cravat, a Croatian invention, which is cleverly incorporated into its design.

Being an embodiment of high-performance and cutting-edge technology, the Nevera only amplifies Croatia’s reputation on the global stage. This rendezvous of the hypercar on Hvar Island does not just merge the past and present of Croatia, but also puts a spotlight on the country’s bright, electrifying future.
