With just 279 cars made during its short production run, the Ferrari 288 GTO has quickly become one of the most desirable vehicles to wear the Prancing Horse. Rarer still, only 25 examples initially made it to the U.S., with the car featured today being one of them. This GTO is listed for sale by Curated out of Miami, FL, and shows 15,753 miles on the clock. Like many of these special Ferraris, this 288 also had a special owner, American fashion designer Ralph Lauren.

Like its name suggests, Ferrari built the 288 GTO as one of its first limited-edition models to pay homage to the 250 GTO of the 1960s. It also paved the way for its successors, the F40 and later F50. Thus, the 288 is a must-have for serious collectors as it is one of the brand’s most significant models.

Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V8 developing 394 horsepower, which goes to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. It’ll sprint to 60 mph in around five seconds and top out at 189 mph.
