Ford Announces the Mustang GT California Special

Ford has a new limited-edition model for the 2019 Mustang GT that channels west coast flavor, minus the fish tacos and In-N-Out burgers. The new 2019 Mustang GT California Special is inspired by the 1967 Shelby GT notchback coupe prototype, which was referred to as the original California Special.

Just like the original, this new version of special Mustang GT has a blacked-out grille and side racing stripe. Other touches include a signature Ebony Black and Race Red script California Special badge, Mustang Performance Pack 1 front splitter and five-spoke painted wheels.

Inside are Miko® suede-trimmed seats with “GT/CS” embossed on them, red stitching and custom GT/CS floor mats. Also, this is the first Mustang to be equipped with a Bang & Olufsen sound system. This system comes with a 10-channel amplifier that packs 1,000 watts for the 12-speaker setup.

Ford will be offering the 2019 Mustang GT California Special this summer.
