One of the most important is the Cobra, boasting an incredible driving experience along with a silhouette that is instantly recognizable as an iconic sports car, even to those who are not seasoned automotive enthusiasts. AC Cars, after six years of work and investment, has revived the Cobra in the form of the new AC Cobra GT Roadster.
Today’s AC Cobra GT Roadster takes the unforgettable classic silhouette of the legendary Cobra, and imbues it with the modern performance excellence of a 5.0-liter V8 engine, a carbon fiber body, and an aluminum spaceframe chassis. Designed to be a small production masterpiece for enthusiasts and collectors, AC Cars has announced that production is ramping up, and the first examples of the Cobra GT roadster.
The first vehicles to be delivered will be Edition 63 examples, which were made to celebrate AC’s historic class victory at the daunting 24 Hours of Le Mans race, the 2025 edition of which takes place this weekend. Combining the incredible classic legacy of the original AC Cobra of the 60s with the greatest performance, technology, and convenience-oriented innovations of today’s automotive industry, the new AC Cobra GT is a vehicle that’s made to be a purist masterpiece for the 21st century, and the first examples are already coming to fruition.
