Chevrolet Auctions Two Corvettes For Over $2 Million

If you have never seen the primetime action at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction, it is a bidding frenzy of epic proportions. Chevrolet brought 2 very significant Corvettes to help Veterans charities. First up was the Carbon 65, which is a snazzy anniversary model based on the Z06. In order to raise awareness for his Military Service Initiative, President Bush signed the car and dropped the hammer. The press release says the winning bid was $1.4 Million by our friend John Staluppi, the owner of Atlantic Auto Group. If you ever get an invitation to see his collection in North Palm Beach, don’t pass on such a rare opportunity.

The next Plastic Fantastic to cross the block is a stunning 2019 Corvette ZR1. The first production example is the fastest & most powerful car Chevrolet has ever produced. It arrives with 755 horsepower and 715 lb-ft of torque so you can guess who was ready to take it home. With all the proceeds going to the Stephen Siler Tunnels to Towers Foundation, their goal is to make sure Veterans have a roof over their heads, and their America’s Bravest effort is changing lives for those who served. As you might have guessed, Rick Hendrick dropped $925,000 on it.

Corvettes For Sale

The only other Carbon 65 Corvette was in our booth, and it’s being raffled by Ronald McDonald House to help families of ill children. Their other raffle car is a stunning black 62, which is the cleanest C1 I have ever encountered.

Limited to 650 vehicles globally, and available on Grand Sport 3LT and Z06 3LZ trims, the Carbon 65 Edition features visible carbon fiber exterior elements, a new Ceramic Matrix Gray exterior color and special interior appointments, including a new carbon fiber-rimmed steering wheel.
