Considering the fact that the Lamborghini Aventador is the car that Lamborghini’s new flagship needs to replace and improve upon makes serving as Lamborghini’s new flagship supercar quite a tall order. However, Lamborghini left no stone unturned when it came to achieving this, and with this latest announcement leading up to the car’s anticipated reveal, Lamborghini shows how the new carbon fiber monocoque makes the new car, codenamed “LB 744” better in multiple ways.
Called the “monofuselage” the design of the new carbon monocoque is inspired by aeronautics. It features a “rocker ring” in its construction that allows the construction to consist of fewer parts while being lighter and more rigid than the Aventador’s construction. Even the crash protection elements of the construction are made of forged carbon fiber, making the car stronger and safer than the Aventador. Once all is said and done, the monofuselage is 10% lighter than the Aventador’s chassis, and the frame is 20% than the Aventador’s aluminum counterpart, with a torsional stiffness improved by 25%. Combined with its total of 1,001 horsepower, the Aventador’s replacement is bound to be a transformational revolution for Lamborghini.
