California-based automaker Lucid Motors announced its official production and delivery figures for Q1 2023 today. And it’s been an important year for the carmaker thus far. It began delivering its two most affordable models, the $107,400 Air Touring and the $87,400 Air Pure. Also slated to arrive sometime this summer is the $249,000 Sapphire, the brand’s answer to the Tesla Model S Plaid.

During Q1 2023, Lucid delivered 1,406 vehicles, producing 2,314 units during the same period. These figures are down compared to Q4 2022, when it delivered 1,932 cars and produced 3,493. According to Lucid, it plans to announce its full income and cash flow results during a conference on May 8th.

To add insult to injury, it’s been only weeks since the American carmaker announced plans to lay off around 1,300 employees as it looks to restructure to cut costs as it moves forward. Still, Lucid plans to produce between 10,000 to 14,000 vehicles this year.

Of course, the actual game-changing moment for the carmaker will be when it finally debuts the Gravity, its first SUV. Given how popular SUVs have become, the Gravity may just give Lucid the widespread appeal it’s after.
